The yurt experience – Patagonia Camp

Located on the outskirts of the Torres del Paine National Park, the Camp offers visitors the chance to enjoy a vast range of outdoor activities, staying at a luxury campsite, with extensive facilities and a gourmet meal service.

The perfect option for those looking to combine nature and well-being, and for couples or families, where each member can choose from the various activities with different levels of physical requirements to have fun during the day, and reunite in the evening to share tales and impressions at the dinner table.

The accommodation, distributed as Mongolian tents or ‘Yurts’, blends all the creature comforts of a traditional hotel (central heating, ensuite bathroom, amenities and elegant decoration with furniture and handcrafted textiles) with a transparent, circular dome in the centre – which in times gone by, was where smoke was released from camp fires lit inside by the Mongols – and where you can now marvel at the Patagonian sky with its constantly changing clouds or a starry sky at night, from the comfort and warmth of your Yurt.

You can reach the grounds from Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales or El Calafate. Upon arrival, the host will explain the different optional activities, depending on your interests, the weather conditions and the time of year of your visit.

Local guides will accompany you during the activities, which are shared with other guests.

As well as the option of hiking the main trails in the Torres del Paine National Park, you can also do several more trekking circuits and outdoor activities, for example:

  • Cerro Castillo trekking
  • 3 Lagunas Trail
  • Condors Cliff
  • Stand Up Paddle in Lake Toro
  • Mylodon Cave
  • Kayaking in Laguna Bonita
  • Full Day Photography

There are also some activities that can be done on a self-guided basis, and others with an extra cost (such as horse riding or sailing), which can be booked on site.

We recommend staying at the place between 3 and 4 nights, to make the most of your visit, considering that distances in Patagonia are large and the connections require several hours of travel. The minimum stay is 2 nights.

The programs include:

  • Return transfers to the site (in regular or private service – please check).
  • Full board (buffet breakfast, box lunch, dinner menu)
  • Open bar (Matetic house wine and standard spirits)
  • Daily excursion options based on the list of excursions in the Torres del Paine National Park and surrounding area.
  • Bilingual guides (Spanish/English)
  • Entry to the Torres del Paine National Park.

This does not include:

  • Gratuities
  • Porters
  • Travel insurance
  • Flights to/from Patagonia
