Once you arrive in Puerto Natales we recommend that –after checking into your accommodation in town-, make your way to our offices in downtown where we will give you a briefing explaining the next few days, checking that you have all the necessary equipment and helping you with any last minute questions.
After an early breakfast, you leave Puerto Natales heading towards Torres del Paine National Park. After registration at the entrance of the Park, you will be changing buses in order to make it from Laguna Amarga to Las Torres sector. Depending on whether you will be staying at the refuge or campsite, we recommend that you register, leave your big backpack, and continue with a lighter daypack as the hike today will be reasonably demanding. You begin a gentle walk up Almirante Nieto, a mountain that takes you to an incredible view of Lake Nordenskjold and the Asencio Valley. You arrive at Camp Chileno after a few hours, after which you hike for one more hour through a dense lenga forest. After leaving the forest, you approach a moraine and climb to see the amazing granite peaks known as the Torres. After admiring the view you return back to the beginning of the trail to have dinner and to sleep.
