We had a really great trip with Walk Patagonia to the Madsen Estancia in El Chalten.
The guide, Isabel, was excellent, full of knowledge about the history of the Estancia and the Madsen family who were pioneers opening up the El Chalten area.
The Estancia is around 40 mins walking time from the WP office in El Chalten, and you get to enjoy some tea, mate or coffee and cakes as part of the trip.
Well done to Isabel, you really did make our trip very enjoyable!
Wife and I recently completed a 10-day tour in Patagonia in early February that allowed us to spend a few days in each of El Calafate, El Chalten and Torres del Paine. Want to thank the team at Walk Patagonia for organizing a wonderful package for us. They came recommended by a friend who has traveled extensively in Patagonia. Staff responded promptly to all our e-mails, and Barbara designed a very nice program that fit our dates and activity level. Itinerary consisted of guided and self-guided hikes and boating excursions. Enjoyed all outings immensely. In El Chalten, Los Huemules was a beautiful hike that was ideal for us. Our guides were all very professional and fun to be with. Each part of the trip was special and different, with spectacular scenery everywhere. Highly recommend!
We did a 6 day trek in the El Chaltén area and then a day at the Perito Moreno glacier near El Calafate. Walk Patagonia organized and book everything including guides, drivers, and hotels in both cities. They were all great, the trek was really well put together, and the people in the office were always a available to answer any questions before and during the tour. They all speak English and Spanish, no problem

The itinerary suggested was good and enabled us to experience the peacefulness of the huemules Reservation. All the arrangements worked well and we enjoyed both the Condor Refuge and the Cagliero Refuge.
The highlight for us was Pablo. What a great guide he is. He is knowledgeable, professional and “simpatico “. He is a really good listener and curious about everything. His English is excellent and he was very happy to help us with our rudimentary Spanish which all added to the fun. He took great care of us when the weather turned bad, was very clear about our safety and happy to make alternative plans. He always put our safety and enjoyment first.
We came back from our three day trek tired, exhilarated and having had a great experience.
