A day to stare at the horizon, marvel at the beauty and immensity of the vast Patagonian plains, and live a genuine horse riding experience, without bumping into another soul along the way.
We’ll leave the steppe area to reach the departure point on the ranch: when the horses are saddled, we’ll mount to begin the journey towards the mountain range, interpreting the local flora and fauna. It’s a 1-hour journey to main lookout point, offering impressive views of the Perito Moreno Glacier, Lago Roca (Rock Lake) and the Hill, among other sights.
From the lookout point, we’ll ride for another hour and half skirting the Cordón de Los Cristales mountain before reaching the Ñires (Antarctic Beech) campsite, where we’ll have a lunch of beef stew with onion and garlic, washed down with a good wine, juice or water.
We’ll be at the campsite for around 2 hours, for lunch and rest, and then have another hour on horseback to return to the ranch, getting back to the town of El Calafate at around 5 pm.
– Lunch included.
