An amazing horseback ride along the coast of Lake Viedma, ideal for learning about Argentine traditions in a ranch located in the heart of the Patagonian steppe.
You’ll spend an afternoon in the countryside, fully immersed in nature and the company of horses. Following the tradition of the local gauchos, you’ll enjoy lunch in this remote setting, savouring a delicious meal cooked over an open fire.
A private transfer will collect you from your hotel in either El Chaltén or El Calafate and take you to Estancia La Estela.
Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and head to the stables, where you will be provided with gaiters and helmets before setting off on your horseback adventure.
Riding through the vast fields of the estancia and along the shores of Lago Viedma, you will be immersed in breathtaking landscapes, with the chance to spot native steppe flora and fauna. On a clear day, you may even catch sight of the majestic Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre in the distance.
Upon reaching Refugio Yatén, you will have time to explore the surroundings or simply unwind and take in the tranquillity while the baqueano guides prepare a delicious lunch over an open fire.
For the return journey, we will take a different route back to the estancia, where the experience will conclude with a well-earned snack before your private transfer takes you back to the hotel.
