Since the white man arrived in Patagonia, riding a horse has been his way of working, travelling and exploring. So why not try riding a local horse? Just like the old times! Enjoy unique landscapes; the Patagonian steppe, mountains and glacially formed valleys in one of the wildest areas on earth.
The Estancia is located at 40 km from El Chaltén, the total ride is 45 minutes per way.
Once at the Estancia the guides will assign the horse to each participant and the tour starts.
The horseback riding has a total duration of 1 hour and 45 minutes, the tour goes across the Estepa passing by lagoons with local birds such as black-necked swan & flamingos, among others, and cows. The landscape changes along the tour, starting from a dry one, to a clayey ground and then a green area, during almost the complete tour the participants can have a wonderful view of Mt. Fitz Roy.
The guides accompany the group during the total tour, it doesn’t have any grade of difficulty and the pace of the horses is slow so that participants can take in the landscape, mixing in some parts with an easy gallop.
The tour ends at the starting point, where the staff will be waiting for the group with a traditional Argentinian afternoon tea including homemade pastries and bread. It is also a good opportunity to see some baby animals from the estancia.
