A straightforward ascent with no technical challenges that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the park’s most expansive valleys, framed by the spectacular peaks of Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy.
The trek begins by following the classic trail towards the iconic Laguna de los Tres before branching off towards the enchanting Madre and Hija Lagoons.
The path winds through a lenga forest as the terrain gradually becomes steeper and more challenging. You will cross a rocky scree field, heading towards the southern ridge of Loma de las Pizarras. Depending on the time of year, the trail may lead you through snow-covered areas, adding a touch of adventure with the use of crampons or snowshoes.
Upon reaching the summit, you will be rewarded with one of the most breathtaking views in the region: the majestic Cerro Fitz Roy and its elegant satellite spires dominate the horizon, while Lake Viedma stretches out in the distance across the vast Patagonian steppe. Truly, an unforgettable postcard moment.
The descent follows the trail through the Laguna Torre valley, leading you back to El Chaltén.
