A non-technical ascent to enjoy one of the most spectacular views of the two most imposing valleys in the National Park and the granite masses of Mounts Torre and Fitz Roy.
We start our approach using the traditional path to Laguna de los Tres. When we reach a fork, we take the path that leads past the beautiful Madre and Hija lagoons. Our ascent starts in the middle of an imposing lenga beech forest and gets gradually steeper as we go along.
We make our way to the south ridge of Loma de Las Pizarras; depending on the time of year we may have to use crampons or snow shoes to cross areas of snow. Upon reaching the summit we enjoy one of the most stunning views of Fitz Roy, its surrounding needle-like peaks and as far as Lake Viedma, located far off on the steppe. Unforgettable! We make our descent along the path through the valley of the Torre Lagoon
