An immersive full-day experience designed to slow down, observe and truly connect with Patagonia’s landscapes, guided by local experts in one of the region’s most stunning natural settings.
Your day begins with a guided transfer from your hotel in El Chaltén towards Lago del Desierto, located 37 km north of the village. The drive itself is part of the experience, following one of the most scenic routes in the area. Along the way, you’ll make several stops to enjoy breathtaking views of mountains, waterfalls and valleys, while your guide helps you discover the native plants, trees and birdlife that inhabit this unique Patagonian environment.
After around 90 minutes, you’ll reach Lago del Desierto, a truly peaceful corner of the Andes. From its shores, you’ll admire the northern face of Mount Fitz Roy, the striking turquoise waters of the lake and the lenga and ñire forests that surround it. You’ll have approximately three hours to explore the area at a relaxed pace, taking time to observe, learn and connect with the landscape through guided nature interpretation focused on local flora, fauna and ecosystems.
In the afternoon, you’ll return to El Chaltén by transfer, carrying with you a deeper understanding of the Patagonian environment — and unforgettable memories of one of its most beautiful settings.
A shorter half-day version of this experience is also available, ideal for arrival or departure days. Please ask us for details.
