An amazing day in one of the most remote and beautiful areas of Argentine Patagonia.
We invite you to enjoy a full day of hiking among lush vegetation, hanging glaciers, crystal clear waters and beautiful views of the north face of Mount Fitz Roy.
The day begins with a transfer that will pick you up from your hotel and take you, along with your guide, to the South Point of Lago del Desierto, along a 37km gravel road that winds through the forest, following the course of the Río de las Vueltas.
Once there, you will board a small catamaran to sail across the lake’s crystal clear waters to the North Point.
Upon disembarking, you’ll start walking along a beautiful trail, partly through a very lush forest and partly through more open areas, where you will be able to see the lake and the northern face of Mount Fitz Roy in the distance.
You will appreciate the native flora and fauna and, if you are lucky, we may even spot the mythical Huemul.
You will walk a total of approximately 14 kilometres between gentle ups and downs. Once you return to the South Point, the vehicle will be waiting to take you back to El Chaltén.
