This experience will immerse you in nature through all five senses, combining exploration, photography, history, wildlife watching, a scenic boat trip, and a trek through one of the region’s most beautiful forests. To complete the experience, you’ll savour an authentic Argentine picada paired with a fine glass of wine.
The journey begins in El Chaltén as we set off towards Lago del Desierto, following a scenic 37 km gravel road. Along the way, you’ll pause at breathtaking viewpoints to admire the stunning landscapes.
Upon arrival at Lago del Desierto, you’ll take an hour-long walk through a lush lenga forest, leading to Laguna Huemul, a serene lagoon fed by a spectacular hanging glacier. After taking in this awe-inspiring sight, you’ll return to the lakeshore and head to a scenic viewpoint, where you’ll indulge in a traditional Argentine picada —a delicious selection of cheeses, cured meats and olives— accompanied by an Argentine wine.
The adventure continues with a 45-minute boat trip on Lago del Desierto, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, forests and glaciers.
After your time on the water, we’ll return to the vehicle for the journey back to El Chaltén, bringing this unforgettable Patagonian experience to a close.
