Cerro Eléctrico offers a breathtaking vantage point from its summit, showcasing the imposing granite massif of Fitz Roy, spectacular glaciers, and stunning views of the Río de las Vueltas Valley.
The first day begins with a transfer from El Chaltén to the Río Eléctrico bridge.
From there, you’ll start trekking through a lenga forest, following the course of the river that originates from the Eléctrico Glacier.
After about five hours of hiking, you’ll take a break for an afternoon snack, practise snow progression techniques such as the use of an ice axe and crampons, and set up camp, where you’ll rest and regain energy for the challenge ahead.

After a hearty breakfast and still before sunrise, you’ll begin the final ascent, using full mountaineering gear, including a harness, ropes, and crampons.
Following a sustained effort, you’ll reach the main ridge, where only the steepest two-hour section remains before reaching the long-awaited summit.
From the top, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking high-altitude view, framed by the imposing Mount Fitz Roy.
Finally, you’ll descend along the same route back to the Río Eléctrico bridge, where a vehicle will be waiting to take you back to El Chaltén.
