Perito Moreno Glacier

The excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier is a must for any visitor!

This imposing glacier flows directly down from the Southern Patagonian Ice Field and ends up in the turquoise waters of Lake Argentino.

With its face of 5 kilometres, a surface area of 250 square kilometres and, in some places, a height above the water of around 60 metres, it is a truly spectacular sight.

It is named in honour of Francisco Moreno, a keen explorer, geographer and naturalist who travelled to the furthest flung corners of Patagonia at the end of the 19th century.

Estancia Cristina is a traditional Argentine ranch founded in 1914 by Joseph Masters and his wife. It is known for its unique natural surroundings, unmatched by anything in the world, and its isolated location that means that it can only be reached by boat from Punta Bandera Port.

It lies on the north east shore of Lake Argentino, right in the heart of the Los Glaciares National Park, just a few miles from the Upsala Glacier, the second largest in Argentina. Estancia Cristina is set in a breathtaking landscape and offers a wide variety of unique experiences that can be enjoyed during your visit. Its comfortable facilities include an interesting folk museum installed in the old shearing shed. Full day programmes provide a range of options and there is something for everyone, from an afternoon stroll around the Estancia to learn about its history, to adventurous activities such as a 4x4 excursion or an unforgettable trek through wild landscapes.
